Ah, to “B” or not to “B” that is the question on every girls mind! Let me dispel the myths and misconceptions about our most talked about fountain of youth. Botox is the most well studied injectable in our beauty arsenal to date. It has been used on children therapeutically with “lazy eyes” (strabismus) for over 18 years with an amazing safety profile.
A common misconception is that you are injecting “botulism” into your face, yet Botox is actually a purified protein that is derived from bacteria. By the same analogy, we are not ingesting “mold” when we take penicillin, but it is a purified derivative of such. So don’t be frightened, but enlightened!
Botox works by relaxing the muscles that make wrinkles. In the hands of a skilled injector, one can look very natural, not frozen as most fear! Botox can also be used as a wrinkle preventative.
